AIDIL FITRI IN LONDON, THE GROSS SELFISHNESS OF DR MAHATHIR

PPBM Chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s family celebrating their 1st of Syawal in London invites numerous questions and are condemned by netizens on social media alleging them ignoring the internal fiasco in his party that arises several months ago.

Celebrating Aidil Fitri abroad is not a sin but in terms of the norms of the Malay Muslim community in Malaysia, it is seen as awkward. As a former national leader and now he is the chairman of a political party, Dr Mahathir’s action is quite contrary to portray himself as an icon in strengthening their party.

Dr Mahathir is more than willing leaving the grassroots roaming alone without the chairman. Deservedly, Dr Mahathir and Mukhriz should take this opportunity in conjunction with the Eid celebration for the benefit of their party.

Now it is evident that Mahathir is only concerned about his family and his followers are mere puppets to be manipulated for his personal desires.

Dr Mahathir and his family are said to leave for London a few days before the end of Ramadan and on June 25, a photo of the former UMNO President celebrating Aidil Fitri at the Sofa College Foundation, Acton with the locals and Malaysians went viral in social media.

It is understood that he was accompanied by his children’s families including Marina, Mukhriz and Mokhzani.

And when his family celebrated Eid Fitri abroad, thus highlighting to us that Dr Mahathir and his family are indeed possessing tremendous wealth and his children are filthy rich.

Nevertheless, rumors say that most likely he desperately need space to calm his mind and realign new strategies in his fight in the national politics. Dr Mahathir is not only struggling to go against Barisan Nasional but he is also facing endless political firestorm within Pakatan Harapan.

Therefore he needs to console himself after PH leaders have rejected him as a potential future prime minister.

Notwithstanding the reasons given for his political attempts to bring down Barisan Nasional in the next general election, what is most certain is that Dr Mahathir’s loyalty to the PPBM members is now not only questioned but doubted.

Is it by coincidence that Claire Brown of Sarawak Report who is having a fundraising campaign in London to source legal funds to fend itself from a suit by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, that Mahathir finds it fitting to be there as well?

The Sarawak Report operator is undoubtedly cooperating with Dr Mahathir to bring Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to position himself as Prime Minister. PAS is in the process of suing Clare Brown on charges of receiving RM90 million from UMNO. Will Dr Mahathir not help her?

Let us not forget that Claire Brown is also in London and she is actively raising funds to face PAS suit. Is Dr Mahathir’s presence in London at Aidil Fitri a coincidence?

With all these possibilities, it seems that the opposition attempts to turn Hari Raya conversation with the latest PM Najib’s gossip, seems to have changed focus on Dr Mahathir’s fled to London to celebrate Hari Raya.

Good luck Dr Mahathir and Selamat Hari Raya to everyone.
