Gambar terkini Lee Kuan Yew ketika kunjungan Sultan Brunei ke Singapura telah benar-benar membuat rakyat Singapura terkejut apabila disiarkan Channel News Asia di Twitter baru-baru ini.
Bagi pihak kerajaan Singapura pula, mereka mungkin ingin menyampaikan mesej kepada rakyat bahawa Bapa Singapura ini masih hidup walaupun desas desus pernah tersebar beliau telah meninggal dunia.
Gambar bersama-sama Duta Rusia ke Singapura di Istana pada Januari 2014 ketika menerima anugerah penghormatan dari Presiden Rusia, Vladimir Putin setelah dilaporkan beliau tidak nampak berada di khalayak ramai selama 2 bulan.
Namun, pada tahun lepas berita yang mengatakan beliau dinasihati oleh para doktor peribadinya agar mengelak daripada berada di khalayak ramai kerana keadaan kesihatannya yang semakin uzur.
Gambar di atas pula telah diambil pada Ogos 2013 beberapa hari sebelum beliau akan
meraikan harijadinya yang ke 90 pada bulan September. Dalam sesi
temuramah setelah buku terbarunya diterbit bertajuk "One Man's View of the World", beliau menyatakan fizikalnya semakin lemah dan kurang aktif.
Di dalam ucapan ketika melancarkan bukunya beliau sempat menyatakan kebimbangan terhadap kerjasama Malaysia Singapura yang telah mempromosi Iskandar.
