One of the hottest topics in Malaysia is the High-Speed Rail (HSR) link between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore
as the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) speeds up the process of
kick-starting the multi-billion ringgit project.
"We are working very
hard to ensure that the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore
railway link is operational by 2020," said Mohd Nur Ismal, CEO of SPAD,
who will feature as a speaker in a discussion on the efficiency and
performance of HSR links and its' feasibility in Asia at RBA 2013 conference.
Hence, RAIL BUSINESS ASIA
(RBA) 2013 will bring together thought leaders in the rail industry for
a comprehensive overview of the rapidly expanding rail development in Asia. This event will be held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia from 10-12 September 2013.
RBA
2013 co-hosted by Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) and
Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB), and supported
by Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MiGHT) is
earmarked to be a must-attend conference & exhibition in the rail
industry.
The Malaysian government is committed to developing the country's public
transportation infrastructure and recognises the rail industry's
critical need for people with the relevant technical qualifications and
skills. Thales, a global leader in ground transportation, signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MiGHT to promote human capital
development for the country's rail industry. Thales, Gold Sponsor
for RBA 2013, will be joining MiGHT to address and discuss the topic of
attracting and retaining talents and improving workforce capabilities
during RBA 2013 conference.
Apart from the SPAD, CIDB and MiGHT, RBA 2013 have confirmed
participation from various government agencies, rail asset owners,
operators and infrastructure developers such as the Ministry of
Transport (MoT), Mass Rapid Transport Authority of Thailand
(MRTA), Railway Asset Corporation (RAC), Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad
(KTMB), Prasarana, Rapid KL, MTR Corposation, Mass Rapid Transit
Corporation (MRT), Express Rail Link (ERL), Taiwan High Speed Rail
Corporation (THSRC), Vietnam Railways (VR), United Nations Economic and
